The North Alabama Chapter of IFMA was incorporated as a chapter in October 1989 with approximately 20 members. Bill Clark, Director of Facilities at Universal Data Systems, was our first President. Doyle Robertson, General Supply Strategist with the US Army Strategic Defense Command, was our first Vice President. Bob Barnes, Facilities Manager for McDonnell Douglas, was our first Secretary/Treasurer.
Two of our current members joined our chapter in its first few years and have been active members ever since. They are Wayne McVay, Facilities Manager at Alabama Supercomputer Authority, joined January 1990 and Donna Robinson, Senior FM Software Consultant for the Facilities Office at MSFC/NASA, joined February 1990.
Over the years, our chapter has continued to grow and gain many Professional and Associate members who have played a huge part in making our chapter what it is today. We are currently averaging around 100+/- members. Our chapter conducts informative meetings or tours of local facilities the third Thursday of each month from 11:30 - 1:00. We are currently holding online meetings, but plan to get back to face-to-face meetings as soon as we safely can.
