Member Spotlight

Just a reminder that we are changing our website's Member Spotlight the first of each month now - the same time we add the monthly meeting announcement.  Please take the time to look at them and read about your fellow chapter members.  You may have more in common than you think!

We would like each of our members to participate in this if you haven't already.  Please contact Lance Harrison, Membership Committee Member Spotlight, at or 256-734-1387, to participate.  All you need is a short bio and a photo and that's it.

Kudos to Our Chapter CFM/FMPs

As of January 4, 2019, our chapter has four members who have received their CFM credentials and seven members who have received their FMP credentials!  This is a great accomplishment and one our chapter should be proud of and very proud of the members who achieved this status.

Certified Facility Managers (CFM)

John Dowdy, C & W Services (awarded November 9, 2018)
Jeff Montgomery, Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. SAIC (awarded June 24, 2008)
Greg Smith, University of Alabama Huntsville (awarded February 6, 2015)
Gregg Tyree, HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology (awarded May 28, 2015)

This is the most respected global credential in facility man agement.  With it, one can earn distinction, demonstrate expertise and increase earning potential.  The CFM credential sets the industry standard for ensuring the knowledge and competence of practicing facility managers.  IFMA's certification process is designed to assess competency in the field through work experience, education and the ability to pass a comprehensive exam that covers 11 competencies that make up the facility management body of knowledge.

Facility Management Professionals (FMP)

Denise Bates, Intergraph (awarded March 21, 2017)

The FMP designation enhances your knowledge and skills, helps gain recognition and credibility with employers, clients and peers and provides a competitive advantage in the job market.  It is the must-have credential for all facility management professionals and industry suppliers.

Take a minute to congratulate these members for a job well done!
