They have two sons: Tyler, 24, just graduated from UAH and Jordan, 18, just graduated from Bob Jones High School. Until now, raising the boys has taken precedence in Tabitha and Kelley’s life. Now that they have an empty nest, they can enjoy each other’s company again while exercising, watching TV and going to movies together on the weekends.

Kelley has over 29 years of combined energy management, controls and HVAC experience as an Air Force HVAC technician and HVAC contractor and 14 years’ experience with ADTRAN where he is currently employed.

Since being employed at ADTRAN, he has worked in multiple roles. Currently, he is supervising the Energy Management, HVAC and Electrical Departments. He also manages and maintains the Building Automation Systems, Energy Management software and Critical Equipment Monitoring dashboards. He serves as the primary lead of energy saving and sustainability initiatives in the Facilities Department. He has coordinated energy saving projects with the TVA Energy Right Solutions Incentives program and works closely with Huntsville Utilities on strategies to reduce electrical load campus wide. Since 2005, he has managed ADTRAN’s energy management program. His successes at ADTRAN include achieving a 38% decrease in Energy Utilization Index (EUI) despite company growth.

Kelley is the recipient of the ASHRAE 2019 Region VII Regional Technology Award for the Commercial Building, Existing category for ADTRAN East Tower’s Chiller Plant Optimization project. He is also actively involved in the following professional development organizations: ASHRAE Board of Governors, AEE, North Alabama IFMA and the Association of Valley Industries (AVI) Board of Directors.

The North Alabama Chapter is proud to have Kelley as an active member and Kelley states that there are so many benefits of being a part of IFMA, including collaborating with other facilities professionals, exchanging ideas and concepts and learning about new technology.
